I visit the Dells with my kids several times a year, and we have had the Dells Dinner Theater on our to-do list for several years. We FINALLY had the chance to check it out, in partnership with Dells Dinner Adventures, in the summer of 2026. It’s advertised as family-friendly, but I was still surprised by how perfect this was for kids. The whole family had a great time, and now that we’ve seen Sneaky Pete’s Wild West Show, we are itching to go back for some of their holiday programs.
Sneaky Pete’s is a wonderful evening activity for the whole family. After a busy day at the waterpark and nonstop movement, this is a great place to settle in and rest while still being highly entertaining. I’m not the only one who thinks so, either; they have a 4.9/5 rating on Google with close to 10,000 reviews! That’s practically unheard of. Read ahead for all the necessary details.
Thoughts on Sneaky Pete’s Wild West Show

The show itself is pretty fast-moving. There were a lot of action scenes, songs, dancing, and comedy. The initial setup feels a smidge slow, but once they get going, there is a lot to keep the audience engaged. At the beginning of the show, the hosts split the audience in half; one side cheers for the good guys, while the other cheers for Sneaky Pete and the bandits. We had cow bells, which are a great way to be loud without losing your voice or hurting your hands. These are available for purchase for $6 or included with VIP seating.
Many of the performers had special skills. This included live music, a wide variety of tap, ballet, and can-can dancing, spinning lassos, whip-cracking, and pyrotechnics. It was all great fun to watch!
Several live animals participate in the act, and they all look very happy to be on stage and well cared for. I was hoping they would be available for the cast meet-and-greet at the end, but I guess the animals aren’t asked to participate in it.
What to Wear

The dress code is casual, and you can come as you are. That said, my kids loved playing into the theme a bit, and the show encourages you to dress the part. The easy way is to buy the “Cowboy Package,” which includes a hat, a bandana, an inflatable stick horse, and either a sheriff’s badge or a bad-guy mask. You can buy it at the venue. It’s $25 per person, though, so you may want to spend a little time putting together a basic outfit before coming.
For the Wild West show, think flannel shirts, jeans, cowboy boots, and/or a cowboy hat. Here are some DIY ideas for cowboys/cowgirls. Not interested in dressing up? No worries! It’s not a requirement.
Special Moments for Kids

During the intermission, some of the performers come down to the floor and interact with the kids. During our intermission, the sheriff came out and taught the kids some basics on lasso spinning. My kids kept practicing with theirs all week. The sheriff also “deputized” the kids, swearing them in to help protect the town.
Another special highlight for the kids was being invited up on stage with all the kids in the audience. The performers told the kids to keep an eye out for Sneaky Pete, then led them in a rendition of the chicken dance. Soon enough, a giant chicken shows up behind them….. watching the kids pick up on the jokes or not was pretty hilarious. I wish I could publish the picture, but I’m not comfortable putting up a photo of a bunch of other people’s kids! On the night we went, the kids who participated on stage got some coupons for free admission to other local attractions!
Instead, I included a picture of my kid on the stage right before the cast invited everyone up. When the Sheriff asked for volunteers, my kid excitedly waved his hand and was ecstatic to be picked. The Sheriff used him to “practice” tying up Sneaky Pete.
The Meal-All You Can Eat

Food service starts about 45 minutes prior to the show. Parking is free in a dedicated lot, so you don’t need to worry about finding a spot. We arrived about an hour before the show, which gave us plenty of time to get settled and enjoy our meal. As you arrive, pay attention to your host, the person who sits you may be an actor in the show!
Once you’re seated, a waiter will come to take your drink orders and start bringing out food. The meal for each show is clearly described on the website. My kids were happy with the regular meal, but if you have picky kids, don’t worry. The venue also offers pepperoni or cheese pizza. Do you have other dietary restrictions? They can accommodate vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free requests.
They serve the meal family-style, and it is all-you-can-eat. With kids, I love family-style; they can take as much or as little as they like. Our waitress quickly brought more of whatever we asked for. The meal also includes a dessert.
Of note, they recommend leaving a $7 tip per person for the server. Our server was very attentive, and we are happy to tip service workers. If you don’t have cash, they can have a manager come to your table so you can add a tip for your server on your card.
Briefly, the Circus Show has lasagna, Sneaky Pete’s has fried chicken, the Monster Mash Spooktacular has rotisserie chicken, and the Christmas in the Dells show has roast turkey and ham. All the dinners have a handful of sides as well.
Times and Dates

The show started promptly, and we were walking out about 90 minutes after the start time. Keep in mind the food service starts 45 minutes prior to the show.
Showtimes vary, so you will want to check the calendar. During the busiest periods, there are two shows in a day. Sneaky Pete’s has show times at 5 pm, 7 pm, and/or 8:15 pm.
The other shows have even more time options, some as early as 1 pm.
Different Shows for Different Seasons
Traditionally, there have been four show options throughout the year. Sneaky Pete’s Wild West Shows runs for the busy summer season. It switches to a Monstar Mash in late September, then has a Christmas show at the end of the year. After Christmas, it usually switches to the Circus show. Be on the lookout for Legacy shows as well, featuring a wide variety of tribute bands/shows.
Prices, VIP Options, and Seating

There are 3 different price tiers: Value, Premium, and VIP.
Value is the base price. Based on the theater layout, I think even kids can see pretty well from all the seats, but with Value pricing, you will either be in the back row or far to the sides. Personally, if I were going to buy a value ticket, I would buy as far in advance as possible and get the far-lateral seats closest to the front.
Premium costs an extra $10 per person and includes a private table and significantly better seating options. Personally, I wouldn’t mind sharing a table, but if it’s within your budget, consider upgrading for better seat selection. The raised seating means you don’t have to worry about how tall the people in front of you are.
VIP is $15 in addition to the Value ticket or an extra $5 over the premium. These really are the best seats. We were in row F, the first row of raised seats, which is perfect for kids. There was no concern that someone tall would be in front of them, nor did we have to worry about them being tall enough to see the stage (from the front row). VIP also offers you a priority meet-and-greet, which was a pretty informal process of walking past and shaking hands on the way out. Another nice benefit of the VIP seats is the inclusion of cow bells!
Special Considerations for Young Kids
First off, high chairs and booster seats are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Secondly, kids two and under are free, but you still need to reserve a spot for them when you book tickets. Don’t worry if you think your kids won’t be quiet for the show. It’s very interactive, and a lot of cheering is encouraged, so they don’t have to be super quiet to not disturb others. There is an intermission to take a break, but you can get up and walk into the lobby whenever you need to. The aisles are wide, and it isn’t so dark that it is hard to find your way. Plus, the seats are arranged in such a way that most people, even though in the row behind you, will be able to see over you anyway.
The theater is loud, and it is easy to hear the cast, but I could still talk to my kids when needed.
Fancy Drinks with Alcohol or Without

Unlimited Pepsi product fountain drinks are available with the meal. If you are feeling sassy, go ahead and try one of their specialty drinks. There are small doorbells at each table to summon the bartender, or you can walk over to the bar; there is one in the theater and another in the lobby.
All the specialty drinks come in fancy glasses that you can keep. They include drinks with a firecracker, dry ice, or cotton candy! These are large and intricate, and they range from $15-$25 per drink.
In Conclusion

My kids had a great time, and our family would be happy to return to see another one of their shows. I’m especially looking forward to the Spooktacular Halloween special. Which shows do you want to see the most?
