Would you like some help finding the height restrictions for one of the waterparks in Wisconsin Dells? All the waterparks list them on their websites, but they can be tricky to find. Here are some summaries about height requirements and quick links to the correct part of the website for Great Wolf Lodge, Wilderness, Kalahari, Mount Olympus, and Chula Vista. Read my comparison article if you are still deciding which indoor waterpark you want to go to. Here are more recommendations on what to do in Wisconsin Dells. These tips are from a local! Here are ideas on what to pack for your indoor waterpark trip.
Great Wolf Lodge Height Restrictions

Check out the Great Wolf Lodge Website for more details on ride requirements. Here is my review of the Great Wolf Lodge.
- Kids under 42″ can ride the Totem Towers, Mindshaft, and Whooping Hollow. They may ride with a companion at Lightening Falls and Lookout Mountain.
- Those between 42″ and 48″ can ride the above rides without a companion in addition to the Mountain Edge Raceway. Those under 48″ must wear a life vest in the wave pool.
- People 48″ and taller can ride the above slides in addition to Alberta Falls and Howlin’Tornado.
Those over 52″ may not use Whooping Hallow. Fort Mackenzie is how you get to the top of the Totem Towers. Big Foot Pass (lily pad crossing) is listed as at least 42″; they were not monitoring this closely when we went. Lifevests are recommended but not required for the water slides.
Wilderness Height Restrictions

Check out Wilderness’s website for more details on height and restrictions at all their waterparks in Wisconsin Dells. Here is my review of the waterparks at Wilderness and my thoughts on the resort as a whole.
Wilderness is a huge waterpark, and they have four separate waterparks. Each area has features for a variety of age groups.
- At Klondike Kavern The Bonanza Bluff is for 12 years and under, The Claim Jumper Challenge is 42″ minimum or with a qualified adult, and The Mineshaft and The hurricane are for 48″ and over.
- The Wild Waterdome is most known for its huge wave pool, but it also has Dueling Mammoths, which are family raft slides that do not have a minimum height.
- In the Wild West, there is no restriction on Fantastic Voyage, a family raft slide. Warped Wagons is a dueling mat slide with a minimum height of 42″, Twisted Trails are dueling tube slides with a minimum height of 42″ with an adult or 48″ solo, and The Black Hold Adventure has a minimum height of 48″.
- Finally, Cubby’s Cove has a play area for younger kids, a pool with basketball nets, a lily pad crossing, and an indoor/outdoor hot tub, but no slides/rides with restrictions.
Kalahari Height Restrictions

You can go to their rules and procedures page for more details. Here is my review of Kalahari for more details.
Kalahari has a lot of the fast adrenaline rides in addition to some great kids areas and plenty of things in between!
- Rides for those 42″ or below include the Rippling Rhino and Victoria Falls, both with an adult.
- Lepards Lair has no height restrictions but slides are for those 100 lbs or less.
- Guests over 42″ can take on the FlowRider (strong swimmers only), Master Blaster, and Zig Zag Zebra.
- Tiko’s Watering Hole is designed for those 48″ and under with their adult supervisor.
- For those over 48″, you can ride on Elephant’s Trunk and Tanzanian Twister and be in the lazy river and wave pool without an adult.
- You must be 52″ or taller to attempt to surf on the FlowRider rather than just the bodyboard.
- Finally, you must be 54″ or over to take on the Sahara Sidewinders or Screaming Hyena.
Mount Olympus Height Restrictions

Here is the website for more details about ride height restrictions at Mount Olympus indoor waterpark in Wisconsin Dells. I know some of the reviews for this place are concerning. Here are my thoughts.
- Kids under 48″ can ride Cerberus with an adult,
- For riders 42″ and over, you get a chance to ride Medusa’s Slidewheel,
- Medusa’s Shipwreck is for kids 48″ and under.
- Guests who are 48″ and over can go into the River Styx solo and ride Cerberus solo.
- Finally you have to be 55″ to take on the Hydra Body Slide.
Chula Vista Height Restrictions

The Chula Vista ride restrictions are pretty simple. You must be 42″ to ride all the slides. Here is my full review of the waterpark at Chula Vista.
You may want to use some personal discretion on single-tube rides, though. At 42″, my kids can comfortably ride in the front of a double slide where I can support them, but their butts fall through when they try to ride a single tube.
When we were there in December, the height requirements for the Flyan Myan were that riders needed to be at least 42″ tall and meet appropriate weight requirements. Single riders must be at least 115 lbs and cannot exceed 300 lbs. Double riders must meet a minimum weight of 200 lbs together with a max weight of 400 lbs. Their website appears outdated compared to signage and practice.
Concluding Thoughts
Regardless of height or age, these waterparks are designed for various guests. We have gone at various ages, and there are always fun times, from babies to grandparents! What’s your favorite park, and for what age?
